The National Coordination Office – Special Agro Industrial processing  Zones (SAPZ) under the Support of International Fund for Agriculture (IFAD) facilitated and Coordinate the signing of Agreement between the Rice and Tomato Farmers in Kura and Bagwai LGA in Kano State.

The Purpose for the meeting was to formalize relationships between farmers and off-takers, ensuring a ready market for their produce.

The primary goal of the meeting was to foster partnerships among SAPZ beneficiaries, off-takers, agro-input suppliers, financial institutions, and other relevant stakeholders. For the pilot phase, the emphasis is on establishing productive partnerships between the off-takers and farmers in these LGAs for rice and tomato production.

During the meeting, the Permanent Secretary of the Kano State Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources delivered the keynote remarks, on behalf of the Commissioner. He commended the efforts of SAPZ and IFAD in implementing the initiative in the state and urged the participants to collaborate for the success of the program. The initiative is expected to enhance market access for farmers and boost agricultural productivity in the region.
